The Iolite tote is the perfect size bag to carry everything you need on the go! The snap closure makes the interior of your bag accessible and beginner friendly for those just starting out in bag making. The optional divider pocket gives a little more organization to the inside and a little extra security with the zippered top.

MATERIALS
 
Fabric Requirements
1 yard of 56" exterior fabric . Vinyl or faux leather is recommended but you could use anything you would like.
2/3 yards of 60" woven fabric for lining (1 yard total with divider pocket) OR 1 yard of 44" woven fabric (1 2/3 yard total with divider pocket)
 
Interfacing/Stabilizer
2 yards of 20" woven interfacing (Pellon Sf101 is recommended) If doing the optional divider pocket add 2/3 yards
1.25yards of 17" WOF decovil light. If you prefer a firmer bag (or are using canvas or woven fabric) use decovil heavy. My preference for TSM vinyl is decovil heavy.
11.5” x 4” Decovil Heavy or peltex
 
Hardware
(4) 1" oblong grommets. If using screw in grommets make sure you get the 29mm size
(4) 1" Strap ends
(8) medium (9mm cap x 8mm post) double cap rivets
18mm magnetic snap
(5) purse feet (optional)
(1) Handmade tag (optional)
10" #5 zipper with pull for interior pocket , 14" #5 zipper with pull for optional divider pocket
 
 
SKILL LEVEL
This bag is categorized as Intermediate, but can be sewn by a beginner who is familiar with basic sewing terms. There is a video sew a long included with the pattern for visual learners and those who prefer a little more detail about sewing bags.
 
**Every Part of this pattern can be done on a domestic machine. You do not need an industrial to sew this bag!!**
